I don't typically use many of those fandangled schnazzy gizmos live. However for drum mics I am fond of Audix; particularly the D6 Kick Drum mic.
For home recording I have an Apple Powerbook G4 running Pro Tools LE via the Mbox. Sometimes for fun I'll record drums with a Shure Green Bullet harmonica mic running through a Line 6 POD effects module.
